Tarpon Season Report March 3 2012

Hey Gang,

The tarpon are in Key West if you were wondering.. We have been covered up with them for a few weeks now. Slob Gulf of Mexico fish have been showing up.

Fishing live bait is the best bet for these channel fish. The chumming boats are doing well too offering the fish a constant and steady feed of chum. On our 4 and 6 hour trips lately we have been averaging 4 hook ups with 2 landings. These fish are huge by Key West standards ranging in size from 60 – 160 lbs.

It looks like the migration may start early if we do not get some cooler weather soon.. Our water temps are warm and the tarpon are chewing big time. Years like this in this weather pattern make for a long but very satisfying tarpon season for our anglers to take advantage of these amazing fish.

We are running tarpon fishing charters every day weather permitting. Our trips depart in the morning, afternoon and evening  on board our state of the art Yellowfin bay boats here at Dream Catcher Charters in Key West. Tarpon fishing trips start at 425.00 for 2 persons and additional persons up to 4 total costs just a little extra. We do have larger boats that carry up to 6 persons very comfortably.

Drop us a line for tarpon fishing charters in Key West or any of the Florida Keys. We are happy to help you land your trophy fish today.
