Florida Keys Fishing Report

Florida Keys fishing

Capt. Kyle Walsh Dream Catcher Charters

Up and down the Florida Keys its not only the temps that are hot but the fishing too…

June fishing is amazing. The Florida Keys tarpon season is in full swing as well as all the other summer cast of characters here on the flats and in the backcountry. Bonefish are showing up all around Key West and the middle lower Keys offering anglers on both spin fishing and fly fishing a great opportunity to hook up.

On the reef the bite is still VERY strong. The Florida Keys are reporting some excellent yellowtail fishing along the reef edges with some cleaner water making the bite difficult from time to time. This week is the full moon so your best reef bite will be late afternoon, evening or even night time. Many species of snappers including Mutton and Lane are spawning, so the fishing is off the rails as these fish do the full moon tango.

Dolphin Fishing Florida Keys

Double Dolphin Hookup

Offshore in the blue water Fishing in the Florida Keys is no different. A few boats out of Key West are reporting numerous sightings of blue marlin and catches in the 150 to 300 lb range. The best blue marlin fishery here in the Florida Keys is during the summer full moons. Dolphin fishing is what it is, boats are reporting in daily with catches with well over school sized fish making fun times and great eating for many anglers that sign up for that show.
