Fishing out of Key West here is our beloved Key Largo Rods owner Rick Berry with some buddies and Black fin Tunas

January 3rd 2015 – Unseasonably warmer weather with air temps pushing 80 degrees and Southerly winds have prevailed offering our Deep Sea Fishing anglers great days on the water fishing for many species. Almost a summer like pattern here in the middle of our Florida Keys winter.

January is not typically a month we talk about dolphin too much in our Florida Keys Fishing Species line up. We can and do catch dolphin in January but the last week of December and this week so far has been ON FIRE with the dolphin fishing out of all the Florida Keys and Key West.

In Key West gaffer sized dolphin are being reported daily from boats such as the Triple Time out of the A and B marina. Speaking with Island Genn of The Keys To Key West she said that all the deep sea fishing boats she has booked over the Christmas and New Years holiday have been hitting it well with great fishing for all the pelagic species such as dolphin, black fin tuna, wahoo, sailfish and kingfish.

The long range extended forecast shows we are not due for another cold front till about Wednesday of next week and then its only a mild wind shift that may even improve things more. Keep in mind with a Northerly wind this time of the year the sailfish use that as an invitation to cruise the reefs in search of food and fun. After that little front we get more of a game changer next weekend over the 10th and 11th according to the computer models chilling us down just a tad and blowing up a bit with some Northerly Winds in the mid 20’s.

Be sure to check out all the deep sea fishing boats we have listed in our host web site. www.fishingfloridakeys.com . Get your shot at this fantastic Florida Keys fishing.

If you want some help choosing a boat over the phone give Island Genn a call.
