September 17 2015 – The fall is not considered to be “Tarpon Fishing Season” here in the Florida Keys but.. We still have tarpon and we are still fishing for them.

The Upper Florida Keys tarpon fishing report comes from Capt. Matt Bellinger of Bamboo Charters in Islamorada.

Tarpon have been in deepest channels in backcountry basins eating shrimp and panfish, incoming tides have been best. Falling tides pouring hot water into channels has been turning off the bite. I Haven’t fished them since the rains but water temps fell from 92-93 to 83 since Monday and that will be a welcome change.

Capt. Matt has several boats that can get you out on the water and take a shot at catching a tarpon. 1-305-393-0909

The Lower Keys tarpon fishing report Comes from Dream Catcher Charters in Key West.

We have been seeing some nice fish out West as well as back up to the East. Water temps are down after the rains and we are able to fish for tarpon later in the day because of it. Baby tarpon are being reported all through the backcountry toward Big Pine and elsewhere making a fun day for the flats fisherman either on fly or spin fishing tackle.
