March 2nd 2015 – Tarpon season has begun here in Key West for Dream Catcher Charters.. The Day in and day out grind of fishing for the Silver King marks the beginning of tourist season and angler season.

The tarpon are mostly being found in harbor areas with some layed up fish in the backcountry. Its way early to hit them on the flats but we are getting some nice shots at them with live bait in the channels and on the edges.

Now that it is official that the tarpon are indeed eating everyone and their brother is calling to set up a fishing charter with us. The key feature here is call as soon as you think there is a day you would like to go tarpon fishing.

Up and down the Florida Keys it is a standard that tarpon fishing trips are 4, 6, and 8 hours in duration. I recommend the 4 or 6 hour trip as if we can’t get it done by then, chances are it aint gonna happen.

Be Warned.. The tarpon are here and you will see them on your day of fishing but, it is still fishing. Sometimes they take a break from feeding for reasons no one understands..
