Florida Keys Fishing Report – Key West

Hey folks.

I thought i would stop by and mention a few things about the fishing in Key West right now as it is off the chain.

Offshore we are kicking some serious black fin tuna butt. Capt. Mike on board the “Intense” out of my shop here at Dream Catcher Charters is raging on some of these fish as I write this report on light tackle. Fish in the 15 – 25lb range are not uncommon and they are eating like crazy. Tomorrow Capt. Mike has a Dry Tortugas trip headed out on the INTENSE as well for some great food fish opportunities.

The Intense, for those that dont know, is my 32 ft Yellowfin Center Console powered by two evil twin Mercury 300 Verado supercharged four stroke outboards.. What a ride..

Inshore things are very good as well. Capt Kelso had a banner day on the flats with jumping 2 tarpon, releasing 4 bonefish, many many pompano, a pair of redfish and a shark to go in a 4 hour.. This aint exactly a happy meal at McDonalds.. we are talking 4 hours of non stop hard work for Paul at Sebago water sports birthday hoo ahh.. Happy 50th Paul. This was all done on board the INXS, this is a Yellowfin 24 bay boat powered by Mercury Verado. A great platform to fish from here in Key West.

Dream Catcher Charters operates out of Sunset Marina on Stock Island just across the street from the golf course. Check out our web site at www.dreamcatchercharters.com
