August 30th 2014 – Backcountry fishing is really the place to be here in the Florida Keys to get your fish on!
With higher winds developing offshore during the day and sea conditions making the trek to go far enough offshore to catch a nice size dolphin or summer time bill fish, backcountry fishing is your best bet throughout the Florida Keys. Calm, clear and fun.
Fun catching a large assortment of fish that range in size from 1 – 300 lbs.. Yes I said 300 lbs. We have some nice sized snappers going 1 lb and some sharks and goliath groupers hiding about in the backcountry waters that can go in Excess of 300 lbs. Latch on to one of these guys and have a memorable experience that will last a life time.
Backcountry fishing this time of the year is a great way to enjoy a 4 or 6 hour day on the water. We are catching permit, bonefish, tarpon, redfish, trout, snapper, snook, shark and Huge Goliath groupers. The redfish and snook are an upper Keys species for Islamorada and Key Largo. The permit bonefish and tarpon are a Key West and lower Keys species. Everything else anglers will find great shots at all of them throughout the Florida Keys.
