Fishing Report For The Florida Keys

Florida Keys Fishing has lived up to tradition this past week.. EPIC!!!

From the shallowest flats to the deepest waters offshore our fishing has been off the rail.

Flats Fishing – Up and down the FLorida Keys most of the flats fishing has been focused on the migrating tarpon. Fly fishermen are coming from all around the world in the hopes of getting a shot at one of these silver beasts on a fly rod or spinning rod. The tarpon are pushed up into the backcountry and trailing along the ocean facing beaches in 2 – 6 ft of water. Many fishing guides are reporting no shortage of fish (or guys chasing them). The tarpon are eating pretty well IF they are not beat up to bad.

Elsewhere on the flats we have started to get into some bonefish and permit down in Key West. The upper keys are reporting a huge number of Snook being caught. Not big fish but Snook none the less.

Backcountry Fishing – Tarpon again.. our backcountry fishing boats are taking folks out two times a day to chase the silver king. Bamboo charters out of Islamorada is reporting nice sized fish eating live baits early in the morning and late in the evening. Dream Catcher Charters of Key West is reporting a great tarpon bite all day but the winds are coming up this week to make things tough.
