Florida Keys Fishing Report After The Blow

wahoo

November 17th 2020 – Here comes the wind, Again.. November been a pretty windy month so far here in Florida Keys Fishing with only a few breaks in the conditions to get our fishing on. This weekend we have a front approaching that will bring our winds up starting this afternoon (Tues 17th). Next week looks fabulous for the holiday weekend.

Fishing Report

The past few weeks like I mentioned has been tough for Florida Keys fishing. Between a hurricane (Eta) and these annoying fronts we can hardly catch a break.. But, When We Do! We get offshore and the Florida Keys reef fishing has been epic. Monster yellowtail snappers, mutton snappers are on the top of my fishing report on the reef are on the top of my list to report.

Florida Keys Fishing
The backcountry fishing of Key West has been producing some nice mutton snappers.

Headed even further outside the reef the big news is our wahoo fishing during this past moon and coming up on our next new moon. Expect some shots at large blackfin tunas with occasional dolphin and sailfish. Thes are all being reported from the deep sea fishing charters all up and down the Florida Keys deep sea fishing boats this past week during the blip of good weather we had. I think the big news is the the sailfish started to show up yesterday, hoping they stick around till next week.

Inshore the winter species keep trying to show up. However we are still tarpon fishing in Key West as well as flats fishing for permit and bonefish on the days that look decent enough for some serious flats fishing. Nearshore the snook are a thing in the upper keys from Islamorada and Key Largo with good reports of some nice size speckled sea trout mixed with a good bag of tasty Spanish Mackerel. The whole Florida Keys backcountry fishing guides are reporting that the snappers are holding up their end of things offering a good dinner and lunch opportunity without having to brave the seas or call your bank.

Also Tasty Fair.. Sea Trout are hitting well throughout the Florida Keys

I truly love a warm November, its like an extended sale at Bass Pro Shops. We keep our fall patterns and the winter fish start to show up at the same time. This allows me to target more species to have even more fun fishing the flats.

Thanks Giving Week
